This policy explains what information TapCaddie collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. TapCaddie is made by Jeddore, an independent software studio in Corunna, Ontario, Canada. In this policy, “we” means Jeddore.
Information the app collects
- Your precise location, only at the moment you tap a club during a round. Location is not tracked between taps or when you are not playing.
- Your rounds, shots, clubs and NFC tag pairings, stored only on your phone.
- If you add one, your GolfCourseAPI key, stored only on your phone.
How the information is used
- Location is used to measure the distance of each shot and to find golf courses near you.
- Your rounds and shots are used to calculate your club statistics.
Third-party services
- OpenStreetMap’s Overpass API (https://wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy): to find nearby courses and course maps, the app sends an approximate area around your position. It does not send your identity.
- GolfCourseAPI (https://golfcourseapi.com), only if you add your own key: the app sends the course names you search for.
Sharing
- We do not receive your data, so we cannot sell or share it. There are no ads, analytics or accounts.
Retention and deletion
- Your data stays on your phone until you delete it in the app. Uninstalling TapCaddie deletes all of it.
To ask for your information to be deleted, email support@jeddore.com with “TapCaddie data deletion” in the subject line.
Children
- TapCaddie is made for golfers of all ages and is not directed at children under 13. It sends us no personal information.
Security
- Your data never leaves your phone except the course lookups described above, which are made over HTTPS.
Your rights
Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, and withdraw your consent, subject to legal limits. Email support@jeddore.com to make a request.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
